THE GUARDIAN

when dumbo guards the whole house !
dumbo is a very good guard for our house . she never lets in any unknown person enter the gate . it is not that she is aggressive or she bites but she barks at them . especially the sweeper !
so whenever we hear her bark we know that somebody is at the gate ! alarm !!

this is our diagonally opposite neighbour's garden . during summers

dumbo sleeps there as the terrace gets very hot then . and one more

thing to add to it , this is the place where dumbo digs and hides her

leftovers like bones , biscuits etc . she is actually guarding her food !

FIRST BATH !

this one is somewhere in feb 2008 when we tried to give her a bath . this is her favourite hide out behind and under the garden chair , so that nobody can catch her !

HOW DID WE MEET ??

aditya shifted with his family to a bigger house in jauary . they wanted to take dumbo along but somehow she did not agree to go with them . they came back thrice that month but , she just did not go with them ! i feel she is probably scared of cars .
so they asked us to feed her and take care of her . i was very happy about the fact that finaly i am getting a dog ! but at the same time my husband was not too happy since she is a stray dog ! but i finaly manage to convince him by telling him that we will not allow her inside our house . she can stay under the stairs . after few days i tried to call her upstairs . fearful but she came as i tempted her with chicken . now it became a habit , coming upstairs for food . my husband did not like the idea and hushed her .....
one day it was pouring cats and dogs , and i saw my husband making a culvet in the covered part of the terrace . my intutions were right !! it was for dumbo ! then he went downstairs and came back with dumbo , dreanched and shivering in his hands .
now i was allowed to keep dumbo in the terrace ...

WHY DUMBO !!

dumbo was actualy my downstairs neighbour aditya's dog . she used to spend the wole day and night in their garden area , from playing with shoes , socks , all the junk she could find in there , eating and then finaly sleeping in their veranda . and we used to observe all her mischief from our balcony .
wondering why do we call her dumbo ?? there are two funny habits that she could not get rid of till date ...

1 . Running after ants and flies

2. If you throw the object away and ask her to fetch it , trust me she wont ! but she will capture all your hand movements . she feels that the hands are aways supposed to carry treats for her .

this was quite dumb for a dog ! so aditya named her dumbo !
